Risa is an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist and has worked in schools, hospitals, private clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health. She enjoys working with people who present with a variety of needs, backgrounds, and abilities, but is particularly interested in accent modification, voice therapy, and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Science and Disorders from Florida State University and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida.
Risa is a Certified Instructor of the Compton PESL Accent Modification Method. She is licensed with the State of Oregon and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Risa is committed to providing personalized speech therapy and communication training to motivated individuals of all backgrounds. She strongly values the client-provider relationship and utilizes research-based practices to increase effective communication skills and client confidence.
